Shenzhen Vacuum Society (SVS) holds the first academic technical salon at the Shenzhen Graduate School of Peking University on January 15, 2018. The salon invited Frank Papa, the board members of American Society of Vacuum Coaters (SVC) to give a speech titled" HIPIMS positive voltage reversal - expand the process window and increase the deposition rate", it also invited Dr. Wu Junwei, the professor of Harbin Institute of Technology and Shenzhen senfeng Technology Co. Ltd, to make a technical report titled "The application and development of hardware decorative coating". Besides, for attending American vacuum coating technical seminar in 2018, the salon invites Frank Zimone, the executive director of American Society of Vacuum Coaters (SVC) to share experience.
Brief introduction of Frank Zimone
Frank Zimone holds a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in materials engineering of Drexel University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. Frank began his career at DuPont Co., Ltd in the United States and took the lead in the development and production of the first erasable optical storage media in the world by using thin-film deposition technology. After that, Frank joined the manufacturer of vacuum deposition equipment-Denton Vacuum, where he was promoted from an engineer to the President / CTO and through 17 years of hard work. Frank has driven the company's global growth by evolving from a small regional enterprise into an international organization with sales offices in China, Taiwan, Germany and the United Kingdom. Frank has a number of ion source technology and machine design patents. Since April 2017, Frank has served as executive director of American Society of Vacuum Coaters (SVC).
Brief introduction of Frank Papa
Frank Papa holds a bachelor's and master's degree in engineering of Penn State University, USA. He is the founder and president of GP Plasma LLC, a company that specializes in HIPIMS and process solutions for PVD market. Frank Papa is also the business and technical manager of Gencoa USA. His work experience includes: Hauzer Techno Coating (Senior process development engineer), Crystallume Inc. (Senior process manager), Ultrafast Inc. (Process engineer) and Vergason Technology Inc. (Process engineer). During his career, he devoted himself to developing the processes, hardware and systems of the vacuum coating industry, including arc source development, HIPIMS industrialization, automation of CVD diamond equipment, and optimization of PVD coating processes. Now, he is working with Shanghai New Arc Coating Technology Co., Ltd. to introduce new HIPIMS technology to China. Since May 2017, Frank has been a director of American Society of Vacuum Coaters (SVC).
