Common tool coatings
If you say tool coating probably most users are going to ask what is tool coating? Tool coating is a film of black, gray, bronze, blue and other colors. TiN coating, golden color, the most common application, with high hardness, high wear resistance, oxidation resistance, suitable for most cutting tools, but also for most of the forming machine anti-wear workpiece. Vickers has a hardness of 2300HV.
CrN coating is suitable for copper, aluminum and other easily sticky chip material processing, the coating is silver. The friction coefficient is 0.3, which is non-sticky.
DLC coating is suitable for copper, aluminum and other materials easy to stick chips processing, the coating is black. The friction coefficient is 0.15 and the chip removal performance is very good.
TiCN coating, with low internal stress, high toughness and good lubrication performance, suitable for processing environments requiring low friction coefficient and high hardness.
TiAlN coating has good chemical stability, thermal hardness, suitable for machining hardness below HRC50 workpiece, suitable for dry cutting, strong general performance.
AlCrN coating is black for finishing milling. High temperature resistance up to 900 degrees, dimensional hardness up to 3600HV.
AlTiN coating is black for rough milling. High temperature resistance up to 800 degrees, dimensional hardness up to 3500HV
